The poor neighborhood seems to have no end, occupying the skyline and giving the true dimension of the suburbs of São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. Gradually we are introduced to the characters that are leading the moment of transformation that this universe is experiencing. Hairdressers, tradesmen, candy men, carters, stallholders and even an accordion tuner that on their own initiative and with perseverance and creativity materialize the desire to advance in an environment that apparently isn't favorable to business. But they reverse this logic thriving and disseminating a new business culture. Their stories are told out of chronological order, which means that we will get to know them as the film advances, gradually understanding not only their activities as well as their past, their motivations and their dreams. While we are approaching and getting to like these characters, we follow the construction of a slab, from the foundation until the coverage. This work is a powerful metaphorical element representing the moment of mass construction as well as the construction of the film itself.
